In a wonderful location (see below), an air-conditioned extended studio in a genuinely historic building (dating to 1400s) wit a lovely ambience and very comfortable for a shorter or longer stay as it is more than just a studio.
The Apartment
There are two completely separate rooms (plus bathroom). There is a kitchen/dining/sitting area at the entrance to the apartment. The kitchen is well equipped for a variety of cooking. A simple foldout dining table is adjoining the kitchen and there is a sitting area adjoining that. The small sofa is also a sofa-bed. The bathroom is accessed also from this area.
Down a small hallway, you reach the main room. Here there is an excellent quality sofa bed, and table and chairs, plus some lounging chairs. There is a large wardrobe in this room also. Satellite TV, plus air-conditioning is also in this room.
Access and Environment
The entrance is through small wooden door to the street, and straight up some relatively easy stairs to the second floor (3rd floor US). The apartment door is on this first landing. The street is tiny (few cars can fit) and gets lively sometimes in summer to the weekend. However, the windows have had very effective sound proofing so it can be described as a quite apartment.
The Location
The Campo dei Fiori area borders both Via Giulia and its Renaissance feel and Piazza Navona with its Baroque atmosphere. But although only 150 meters each way to these particular places, the area carries its own character that is like no other in Rome. Steeped in history and myth, it is not only one of the places to go as a visitor, but is also one of the favourite areas for the young Italians at night, making it a lively and trendy neighbourhood in historical Rome. It holds the great charm however, throughout the day and early evening. The alley that the apartment is in is heavily associated with medieval times and crafts from that era onwards. All facilities such as grocery stores and other necessary goods are "at the doorstep", obviously with many restaurants, bars, and cafes.
Features
The most endearing feature of this large studio apartment is the ability to have the life and atmosphere of Rome only a few yards away, while maintaining and peaceful historic atmosphere being tucked away from the bustle.
ParticularsThe building is original of the 15th century given as a gift from Pope Alessandro VI.
Only few families live in the building and is very quiet. All the wood ceilings are original 15th century
